The Chalk Pit Promenade

Saturday late night we have asked 6 writers to take part in a promenade ”performance” in the amazing Faxe Chalk Pits. These 63 million year old former sea beds will create a backdrop for 6 short pieces (approx  7 to 10 minutes) from each writer. They will each choose a piece – or even write a piece for the occasion – based on the theme ”Stories from Before Civilisation”.

We have chosen 6 ”spots” in the chalk pits for each part of the performance interspersed with 5 video projections onto the walls of the chalk pits.

The video projections haqve been created in collaboration with the young Danish artists collective Undervejs (Underways)

There will be a mobile sound system mounted on a 3–wheel bike providing us with amplification. The bike is called the The Karma Kanon.

Lighting for each area will be provided by the headlights of an explorers veicle – a Landrover defender!

The performance language can be English, but other languages may be used – English language translations will be available.

The performance will last from 23.45 until approx 01.00.

A bus will be available to take audiences to and from the site – limited places available. Please book in advance on info@worldwidewords.dk
