Talkaoke

What and where is Talkaoke:

The Talkaoke Sessions will take place in the Juul stage area.

Our aim for Talkaoke is to create debate on or about ”word” matters which can have a shared interest across geographic, artistic, generational, cultural and other borders.

Each festival day there will be 2 or 3  Talkaoke session which will involve approx 6 of our invited artists. They will be placed around a round table. In a hole in the middle there is a ”host artist” – either a guest journalist or one of the session participants – who will try to direct the discussion.

Each debate has a theme (see below) and we have tried to choose particpants for the various Talkaokes according to their fields of interest.

We hope that there will be a lively debate where the participants will also be encouraged to use their own work(s) in the discussions – ie  excerpts of poems/songs/books etc relevant to the themes.

The Talkaoke sessions will each last approx. 1 to 1,5 hours and will be sent live on the WoWiWo website. The last 15 minutes of each session are opened up to the audience.

The discussions will take place in English – with translations where neccessary.
